The Glory of Christmas Show at Northridge

Last night a we were invited to attend Northridge Church's Glory of Christmas show. This is the most unbelievable show! They put this on all by themselves - except for a few fill in professional musicians to round out the orchestra. They singers and musicians were almost all Broadway quality! The sets and costumes just outstanding. The shows are sold out each year - the place holds 3300 people! They have 15,000 members in their church and they all seemed to help out in some form or another. The show is 2 hours and 20 minutes long - just a wee bit long for me. The first half of the show is more "secular" and the 2nd half is more what the true meaning of Christmas is. This is their church's outreach to the community to promote their church as well as the love of Jesus. If you are ever in Plymouth Michigan the first 2 weekends in December, you gotta try and get tickets. It's as good as any Christmas show that I have seen. They show opens with the song by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas Eve in Sarajevo - full of lights, fireworks, explosions, drums blasting, guitars whaling! Wow. what a way to start the show.
The photos are from the show. One is where the crowd choses Barrabas to be set free over Jesus, who goes on to get crucified (very moving scene) to where he rises from the grave. You get goose bumps! The other one is angels and the choir singing. Now they had many other angels flying overhead too! Those were the younger women. But these were 3 large grown men. I guess I picture angels being more feminine - not kind of big and burly! It was a lovely evening to spend with friends.
