Betsie Bay Inn

We had a delightful 4th of July holiday weekend(3 days worth). Thursday night Steve & I drove to Sugar Springs with the puppies. Had a relaxing quiet evening listening to the loons with a cool breeze to keep us comfy. We had breakfast at the Hearth and waited for the kids to drive up. In the mean time we did some things around the house, checked the internet and read. I finished the book the Last Wife of Henry the 8th. Dan & Tia arrived about 2pm -but without Andy. We were very disappointed that he chose not to come up. We sure did miss him. Once they arrived we drove up to Bear Lake and got settled in. We decided to go into Frankfort for dinner. Little did we know they were having fireworks that evening, but geez -it was the 4th of July. The place was a madhouse of people. We found a cute little inn called Betsie Bay Inn which wasn't crowded at all Steve and I had fish dinner and ice cold beer. The conversation was great and the food delightful. The photo you see above is out in the back of the Inn, The colors were so pretty, I had to take this photo. We decided to stay for the fireworks and went across the river to Elberta to view them from that location. Wow, it was worth it. The finale was one of the best we had ever seen. The biggest drawback was getting home - traffic. We were exhausted and were all asleep by 11:30pm.
